Coten End Primary School
Year 2
Welcome to our Year 2 Page
Class Teachers:
Miss Slater (2CS)
Hello, I am Miss Slater and this is my 9th year teaching at Coten End, mainly in KS1! My favourite subjects to teach are English and Phonics (which might be why I look after English at Coten End alongside Miss White!). I love reading children's books especially ones with beautiful illustrations.
When I'm not teaching, I love going to the theatre to watch musicals or cosying up to watch a film/TV series. I am also a huge lover of dogs, so taking our family dog, Millie - a goldador, on a walk around the fields makes me very happy - until she jumps into a muddy river!
Miss Allsopp (2HA)

I am Miss Allsopp. I have been teaching for 8 years. I have mainly taught in Upper Key Stage 2, Years 5 and 6, but this year have made the transition to KS1 and Year 2. I am so excited to get to know the Year 2 parents and children. I love teaching all subjects but have a particular love for English and History. I am Assistant Curriculum Lead and work hard alongside Mr Williams to make the curriculum as engaging as possible for the children at Coten End. I also run the Young Voices Choir with Mrs Sheepy – a highlight of my year, every year!
In my spare time, I am an artistic director of a local theatre company, so you will often find me singing, dancing and directing. I also love a long walk with a cosy coffee, so you may see me wandering around some National Trust sites locally!
Mr Barnes (2JB)
Hello, I’m Mr Barnes and I am delighted to be joining the teaching team at Coten End this year! Thank you to all of our Year 2 pupils and parents for making me feel so welcome. The subjects that I enjoy teaching most are History and Maths. I will also be helping with our school's football teams and look forward to seeing how our sides get on this season.
When I’m not at school, I’ll often be doing something sporty, whether that be playing one of my favourite sports (either tennis or football) or following my beloved Liverpool FC. I am also a big fan of music and love playing my guitar whenever I get the chance.
