Coten End Primary School

Year 5

Welcome to our Year 5 Page.

Class Teachers:

Mr Rose (5CR)

Hello I am Mr Rose and I am both a class teacher in Year 5 and the PE Lead. I really enjoy helping children achieve their very best. My favourite subjects are PE and History. I love encouraging children to be active, work as a team and learn about fascinating events from the past.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing and watching sport, keeping active and spending time with my family and friends. I am looking forward to a fantastic year in 5CR filled with learning and new challenges!

Miss Day (5RD)

I am Miss Day and new to Coten End, I am so excited to teach your children in year 5 and get to know you all better.  I love teaching all subjects but in particular I have a passion for maths and Science.

My hobbies outside school include dancing, going to play netball and listening to music. I love spending time with family and visiting the local coffee shops!

Mrs Woodhead (5VW)

Hello, I am Mrs Woodhead and I have been teaching for over 23 years. I am passionate about creating a positive, supportive environment where all children can thrive. My favourite subject to teach is English and I love sharing new texts with my class. Outside of school, I am a mum to three children and a fluffy labradoodle called Bella. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, travelling and spending time with my family.

Homework Expectations

Maths homework will be set on the Homework Page on a Thursday. Children will be provided with a homework book to record their work in, so there is no need for any additional printing.

There will be a book added onto Myon for the children to read and then take a quiz on. These could be linked to our topic, or just books that we think the children will enjoy.

Weekly spelling lists will also be shared with some suggested activities. A reminder that we do not do weekly formal tests of spellings. Class teachers assess spellings as part of their wider assessment of writing.

Please bring in completed homework on a Monday morning to be marked together.
