What a busy and exciting week we've had in Year 2!

In Maths, the children have been working hard on their number bonds to 10 and 20. They’ve enjoyed using games, songs and practical activities to help them quickly recall these important number facts.

In English, we’ve been learning all about adjectives. The children created some fantastic descriptive sentences based on their own drawings of the African savannah. They used words like tall, golden, spiky and peaceful to bring their pictures to life.

In Geography, we’ve been exploring human and physical features as we compared Africa to the UK. The children showed great curiosity, asking thoughtful questions and noticing key differences and similarities between the two places.

We’ve also continued our work on Adinkra symbols, a traditional form of African art. The children have been learning the meanings behind different symbols and are starting to plan their own designs. Over the next few weeks, they will be creating Adinkra stamp prints – we can’t wait to see their finished artwork!

A special well done to all the children who applied to be House Captains. They worked incredibly hard on their speeches and impressed us all with their confidence and enthusiasm. After casting their votes, the classes elected their new Year 2 House Captains – congratulations to our new leaders!

Well done, Year 2 – another fantastic week of learning!
