The children have had a very full-on week! Starting with a visit from Simon the paramedic (as part of our Helping Heroes topic), where the children learnt about all of his equipment and how Simon helps our community. We also learnt about our 'early warning signs' in our 'Taking Care Project' lesson. The children thought and talked about how their bodies tell them if they are not safe! The children also increased their phonics knowledge with the sounds o/c/k and practised orally blending. Finally, we had our first week of 'group reading' where the children sat with their teachers to look through their phonics book together, picking out sounds, blending and drawing understanding from the pictures.
