Coten End Primary School
Week Beginning 08.12.25
At the start of the week, Year 5 visited the Albany Theatre to watch Beauty and the Beast. The children were captivated by the costumes, music and acting. Back in school, the children wrote their own theatre reviews, sharing what they enjoyed most and giving thoughtful opinions about the performance.
In DT, the remaining children finished sewing their Harry Potter banners. The quality of the final pieces was excellent, showing real care, patience and skill. Together, they now make a fabulous banner display that Year 5 are very proud of.
In Geography, the children prepared for a walk around Warwick. They learned how to identify human and physical features and discussed how places are chosen as settings for films. During the walk, Year 5 explored the town and used their imagination to create scenes for their own Harry Potter interpretations, thinking carefully about atmosphere and location.
Finally, in Computing, Year 5 have been busy putting together their magical documentaries. Working collaboratively around school, they have been filming footage on iPads and learning how to work as a team to create exciting final outcomes.
