Coten End Primary School
SPRING 2 -Week 2 (wb: 2.3.26)
This week, Year 1 had a truly wonderful time celebrating World Book Day! It was a day filled with excitement, imagination, and plenty of opportunities to share the stories and books that the children love most.
The children were invited to come dressed as a character from their favourite book, and we were absolutely delighted by the effort and creativity on display. From Harry Potter to characters inspired by Dr Seuss, alongside a whole host of mythical creatures, the classroom was transformed into a magical world of storytelling. The children thoroughly enjoyed talking about who they had come dressed as and why their character is special to them.
Throughout the day, there were lots of opportunities for storytelling and sharing books. One of the highlights was a class swap, where the children visited another classroom and were paired up with different children to read and share their favourite stories together. It was lovely to see them building confidence, making new connections, and bonding over their shared love of books.
It was such a fantastic day, and we hope it has inspired the children to continue enjoying reading both in school and at home.
