Year 5 continue to impress with their enthusiasm, curiosity and teamwork.

This week, Year 5 proudly published their heat wave reports, a perfectly timed piece of writing as temperatures soared once again. Pupils showcased strong non‑fiction skills, combining factual detail, clear structure and thoughtful reflections on how extreme weather affects daily life.

Year 5 had the pleasure of attending the Year 6 end‑of‑year performance, Oliver with a Twist. The children were captivated by the acting, singing and humour.

In PE, pupils enjoyed fast‑paced handball sessions, practising passing accuracy, defensive positioning and quick decision‑making. They also took part in collaborative outdoor activities, including loose‑parts den building and a lively scavenger hunt.

After weeks of planning and practicing, Year 5 completed their stop motion animations. Their final films were imaginative, humorous and technically impressive. Pupils demonstrated excellent digital literacy, from frame‑by‑frame sequencing to refining transitions and sound.

The highlight of the week was the Year 5 river walk. Pupils boarded the train from Warwick to Leamington, then followed the river route all the way back to school. Along the way, they observed river features, landscapes and discussed how waterways shape local geography. It was a brilliant blend of fieldwork, physical activity and real‑world learning.
