This week Year4 had a very exciting day of Design and Technology. On Thursday, the children worked with responsibility, determination and collaboration to build their very own CAMS models inspired by our reading of The Invention of Hugo Cabret this half term. The children connected CAMS shapes to dowels and followers to sliders, with a lever to make the mechanism turn. Each final product was unique in its design of moving characters and decorative background. The children also reflected on what had worked well and what could be improved upon to make the moving mechanisms even more successful.

On Friday, Year 4 were visited by some special guests from The Albany Theatre, Coventry. They came to speak about an exciting opportunity for children to audition for roles in an upcoming production. Our workshop gave us insights into the world of Shakespeare and a chance to act out some strange stage directions!
