Coten End Primary School

Week Beginning 2.6.25

Despite the rain causing a delay in Sports Day proceedings this week, Year 4 have still been very active in a lot of different ways!

We started the week exploring money in maths. This year we are exploring the connection between decimals and notation of money. The children worked very hard in their pairs to create and record different totals accurately, using coins.

In Science, we have been continuing our learning about electricity by testing different materials within simple circuits to see if they are conductors or insulators of an electrical current. This created lots of talk about why we see wires in plastic and rubber coverings in every day life.

Perhaps most excitingly, this week, we received a visit in school from the TV's Glaiators' Athena, who has a personal connection to the school and local area. She spoke to us about what it takes to be a Gladiator, how she got there and her favourite parts of her role. It was very inspiring to hear from her and the children were very excited to get a high five from her too!
