Coten End Primary School

Week 3 (w/b: 15.9.25)

What a fantastic week it’s been in Year 1! We’ve been so impressed with the children's enthusiasm and creativity, especially in Drawing Club, where they explored the theme of dream jobs. From budding athletes and curious archaeologists to future teachers (how flattering!), the variety of ambitions shared really made us smile. The children took great care in their writing, focusing on clear letter formation and thoughtful sentences. It’s lovely to see their confidence growing!

We also had an exciting milestone last week as the children enjoyed their first visit to the sandpit on the lower school field. It was wonderful to see them working together, following the rules, and reminding one another how to stay safe. Just a quick reminder: children need to wear wellies when using the sandpit. If you haven’t sent a pair in yet, please do so to ensure they don’t miss out on the fun.

And finally, a big moment for our book lovers: the children took home their first library books this week! We encourage you to enjoy some reading time together at home, and please remember to return books by Monday, so your child can choose a new story to explore.

Thank you for your continued support—have a lovely weekend!
