Week Beginning 22.09.25
In Science, Year 5 explored water resistance. Using modelling clay, they shaped and reshaped different designs to test how their shape affected how quickly they dropped through water. The children loved comparing which ones travelled faster and discovered how much of a difference shape can make.
In History, Year 5 continued learning about the Maya civilisation. They investigated the hierarchy of Mayan society, finding out who held power, what roles different people had, and how their cities were organised. They also compared this with how modern cities are run, discussing both similarities and differences.
In Music, Year 5 are continuing to develop their flute skills, working hard to perfect both sound and rhythm.
In Art, Year 5 have been experimenting with modroc. They discovered how it feels and how it works while making small pots. Everyone enjoyed seeing their creations come to life, and we can’t wait to see how they look once dry!
