Macbeth Madness Begins!

In our first week of Year 6, we’ve been immersing ourselves in the world of Macbeth! This half term, we’ll be diving deep into Shakespeare’s famous tragedy- getting into role as different characters, exploring the big themes like ambition, power, guilt, and fate, and even predicting what might happen next. We’ll also be getting to grips with Shakespeare’s language and discovering just how dramatic and exciting his writing can be.

This week, we focused on the witches and their mysterious prophecies. We found out that they predict Macbeth will become Thane of Cawdor and eventually King — but they also warn that Banquo’s descendants will be kings too. This sparked lots of curiosity and discussion in our classes as we tried to work out what the witches really meant and how Macbeth might react.

Everyone has shown amazing enthusiasm and imagination as we begin to uncover the dark and fascinating world of Macbeth. We can’t wait to find out what happens next!
