Last week in Year 1, we challenged the children to think about how they could take their junk modelling to the next level. Together, we explored different techniques for joining materials, shaping a range of resources, and decorating using the various mediums available in the classroom.

We also talked about how sometimes working on a smaller scale can be more manageable, especially when a giant cardboard box proves a bit too ambitious to fold, cut or control!

Each week, we’ll be inviting the children to build something with a specific purpose or theme in mind. If you have any clean recycling at home that you’d be happy to donate, we would be incredibly grateful. It always inspires such creativity!
