Coten End Primary School

Week Beginning 16th March

This week we have all been enjoying the sunshine and drier weather. It has been lovely to be able to explore the school grounds without getting muddy and wet. The children are going to use inspirations from nature to create their own sewn leaf, so have started to look around the grounds for ideas. In class, we have taught the children how to do a running stitch and practised on some binka. We discussed the skills needed to complete this, identifying patience, perseverance and accuracy as three of the main ones! They did brilliantly well at this with some great results.

In English, we have introduced adverbials to the children in preparation for writing their own versions of Tyrannosaurus Drip. Some of the writing was truly incredible and we can't wait to read the stories that they come up with next week.

In Maths, we are moving onto fractions and starting to look at how the larger the denominator, the smaller the fraction. It's a difficult concept, but the children have made a good start.

We are also starting Year 3's rotation of going to Warwick School for a Science lesson this week, so look out for information on next week's blog!
