Coten End Primary School
Week Beginning 04.05.26
After the Bank Holiday weekend, Year 5 have had a wonderfully busy and musical week.
The children have been working incredibly hard during additional singing rehearsals as they prepared for their special Opera Day at Warwick School. Their dedication and enthusiasm truly shone through as they sang beautifully and powerfully alongside professional opera singers to help tell the story of The Magic Flute. It was a fantastic experience for the children to be part of such a magical performance, and they should all feel very proud of themselves for the confidence, teamwork, and musicality they demonstrated throughout the day.
On Friday 8th May, the children also took part in celebrating the 100th birthday of David Attenborough. They created and presented thoughtful non-chronological reports about his extraordinary life, achievements, and the lasting impact he has had on our understanding of the natural world. The children explored how, from a young age, David Attenborough developed a passion for protecting the planet and inspiring change, encouraging people everywhere to care for the Earth and its wildlife.
