Revision and Hokusai-Inspired Artwork
This week, we have continued to revise in a range of different ways, including some exciting competitions! It has been great to see everyone showing determination, supporting each other and applying all the skills we have been practising.
Alongside our revision, we have been working incredibly hard on our own versions of Hokusai’s famous artwork, The Great Wave off Kanagawa. We explored how Hokusai used powerful waves, movement and contrasting colours to create such a dramatic piece of art. We also discussed the tiny boats hidden amongst the enormous waves and how the artwork shows the power of nature.
We then created our own masterpieces, choosing which media we wanted to use. Some of us experimented with paint, while others chose pencils, pastels or mixed media to create different effects. Everyone showed patience, creativity and resilience, and we are so impressed with the unique pieces Year 6 have produced!
