Week Begining 13/01/25
What a fantastic week it has been for Year 1! Our students have fully embraced a host of engaging activities that have not only enriched their learning experience but also made for a memorable week filled with excitement.
Our week included an inspiring dance lesson focused on aboriginal dancing. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about the cultural significance behind the movements and expressed themselves beautifully through dance. It was wonderful to see their creativity shine!
In computing, the children had a marvellous time using the Code-a-pillar and Bee-Bots. These interactive tools helped foster their problem-solving skills as they navigated the robots through various challenges, enhancing both their coding knowledge and teamwork abilities.
Furthermore, we introduced the concept of days of the week, guided by the delightful book "Diary of a Wombat." Through this engaging narrative, pupils not only learnt the spellings but also enjoyed discussing the adventures of the wombat, connecting stories to real-life experiences.
Finally, in maths, we delved into subtraction, using a variety of hands-on activities to consolidate their understanding. It has truly been a week filled with learning, laughter, and growth for Year 1. We look forward to more exciting journeys ahead!
