Coten End Primary School

WB 17.3.25

This week began with the children building on their Science learning about sound. In our Science lessons this week, we have been exploring pitch and how the peaks of soundswaves and their frequency can produce either higher or lower pitch sounds. Some of the children created their very own paper whistle instruments to test out this effect by shortening the length of the paper whistle to create higher and higher pitch notes. It was quite an orchestra of whistles!

In our PSHE learning, we have put some drama and role play into practice in order to explore the idea of impact of peer pressure. The children spoke maturely about how they can respond to situations where they might feel under pressure to act or behave a certain way. This generated lots of discussion and it was brilliant to hear such sensible advice being given within the classes.
