Week beginning 13th November
Maths
In year 6, some classes are doing BODMAS for maths. If you did not know BODMAS stands for it means-Brackets, Order, Divisions, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction.
In BODMAS, when you are doing any of the operations you must start with Brackets and end with addition or subtraction.
The task we had been set to do, in pairs, was to cut out and match the question to the answer given to us as quickly as possible. Once we had matched them, we had to stick them on an A3 piece of paper with glue. It was pretty challenging but also very fun.
Geography
In year 6 we have been doing biomes for geography based on Darwin’s dragons. If you didn’t know what a biome is, it is a large area of land characterised by its vegetation, soil, climate and wildlife. The 6 biomes are Rainforest, Deciduous forest, Desert, Savannah, Taiga and Tundra.
We had to write each separate biome and decorate it with fancy colours! We also had to provide information about the wildlife, vegetation, climate and location in detail!!!
This was a great task to do if you like colouring with pens and pencils.
