Coten End Primary School
Reception
Welcome to our Reception Page

Hello, I am Mrs Farmer and I have been teaching for around 15 years. The majority of this has been spent in Early Years with a couple of years in Year 1. I taught in Rugby before moving to Surrey and then back to Warwickshire in 2020. I am the Early Years lead at Coten End and love sharing my passion for the Early Years with the team and families who come to our school. I believe that Reception is where the magic happens and that children make the most progress in this year group! My favourite subject to teach is Phonics, I love it when children crack the code and see themselves as readers.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and am about to welcome my second child at the end of October.

Hello, I am Mrs Devine. I started my teaching career at Coten End back in 2015. I worked in Year Three and then Year One, before discovering my passion for the Early Years Foundation Stage. Since then, I have taken a career break to travel and worked in Buckinghamshire, at an incredible hearing impaired school, where I developed my love of BSL and Makaton. One of my motivators as an Early Years teacher is helping all children feel they belong to their new school community; teaching everyone in our class to sign allows all of the children to communicate and build relationships with each other!
Outside of school, I enjoy playing netball, reading and spending time with my two lovely (and tiring) little boys.

Hello, I am Miss Murdy and I teach in Reception, After half term I will also be taking over from Mrs Farmer as Early years Lead, and I am really looking forward to getting to know you all. I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Education with an Early Years specialism, and I am a big believer in play-based learning, where children learn best through exploring, creating and having fun.
Outside of school, I love reading, travelling and painting.

Hello, I’m Mrs Lloyd and I have been teaching at Primary Schools for about 20 years, since I retrained in teaching. Over the years, I have worked in Nursery, Reception, KS1 and KS2 in Sandwell then Birmingham before moving to Warwickshire and doing lots of Supply Teaching, often coming back to Coten End and feeling very welcomed by both children and staff.
In my spare time I love to go on long coastal and hill walks around the UK, spend time with my family and friends and when I can, go swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving and kayaking both in the UK and abroad. In the Winter, I spend a lot more time reading, listening to music and watching films.
