Class Teachers:

Mr Lingard (3JL) and Y3/4 Phase Leader

Hello I am Mr Lingard and I am both a class teacher in Year 3 and the phase leader for years 3 and 4. My favourite subjects to teach are history and maths. I am fascinated in finding out how children learn maths and have also recently trained as a Primary Mastery Specialist so I can support other teachers in developing their maths teaching. 

In my spare time, you can often find me pounding the streets of Warwickshire as I love to run. My other hobbies include going to the theatre and singing in the Leamington Bach Choir. 

Miss Giles (3LG)

I am Miss Giles and new to Coten End, I am so excited to teach your children in year 3 and get to know you all better.  I love teaching all subjects but in particular I have a passion for maths and art.

My hobbies outside school include painting, going to watch football and listening to music. I love spending time with family and visiting the local coffee shops!

Mrs Monga (3VS)

Hello! I am Ms Monga and have been teaching for about 25 years. I started when they were still using blackboards and chalk! 😊

I started teaching in Reading, then in a large school in Slough, where I was Head of Year 4. Thereafter, I returned to Warwickshire to supply teach in many schools throughout the area for 20 years. I have taught in a wide range of schools, from Nursery through to Year 6. I also have experience of working with chiIdren with Autism and other special needs. Now, I am returning to a more permanent role and am looking forward to working in Year 3 at Coten End.

To unwind I love watching various dramas and movies, cooking and having tea with family and friends.

Mrs Slatem (3VS)

Hello, I'm Mrs Slatem and I'm looking forward to getting to know all of the parents and children in Year 3. I am lucky to live locally with my family. In my spare time I love to read, go for walks in the local countryside and listen to live music when I can. I also go jogging and love skiing. I am a big fan of history and still enjoy learning about different times and events that happened in the past. My family are Coventry City fans too so we will be watching how they get on in their long awaited return to the Premier league this season!

Homework Expectations

Maths homework will be set on Google Classroom on a Thursday. Children will be provided with a homework book to record their work in, so there is no need for any additional printing.

There will be a book added onto Myon for the children to read and then take a quiz on. These could be linked to our topic, or just books that we think the children will enjoy.

Weekly spelling lists will also be shared with some suggested activities. A reminder that we do not do weekly formal tests of spellings. Class teachers assess spellings as part of their wider assessment of writing. 

Please bring in completed homework on a Monday morning to be marked together.
