Phonics with Mrs Cunningham

Hello Reception!

I hope you had a lovely weekend and have done some super learning at home today. We miss you all but we have enjoyed finding out how busy you have been at home from the emails we have been sent.

It's a bit cloudy today but at the weekend I spent lots of time in the garden and enjoyed the sunny weather. I took some photographs of some of the flowers and wildlife I spotted. Perhaps you could go on a wildlife hunt too! Here are some of the photographs. Can you spot the ladybird? It would be lovely if you could draw or paint a picture of the flowers, or from your garden at home, and then send it to us. Mrs Slatem was busy gardening too. She planted some wellies with flowers! Can you count the wellies?

Motor Skills Ideas for wb 30.3.20

Use some paper at home to have a go at weaving. It can be coloured paper or plain, whatever you have! Ask your grown up (or even try yourself with a grown up nearby) to cut paper strips and a template. Then have a go at weaving the strips. We would love to see how you get on!

Remember to practise your fine motor skills while you are at home. You could ask your grown-up to draw you some dotted lines. Then you could try your hardest to trace over them with a pencil. If you are feeling really clever, you could also try to cut carefully along them. Here is picture to give your grown-up some ideas. Good luck. If you would like to show your teacher how you get on, you can ask your grown-up to email your teacher via the new Reception email address:
